STORYTELLING TRAINING

Kirsten Farrell from the Goodman Center leads us in key ways to tell our story in order to motivate action and create change. Register today for the April 27th at 12pm PT/3pm ET event!

Kirsten Farrell is a lifelong storyteller, performer and improviser. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she quickly found success in acting in commercials and went on to become a series regular on “10 Items or Less” on TBS. She has studied improvisation, or ‘writing on your feet,’ at the Groundlings Theatre and Upright Citizens Brigade. She currently improvises full-length plays in the style of classic writers like Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and Tennessee Williams with Impro Theatre.

At The Goodman Center, Kirsten co-facilitates workshops on storytelling, presentation design, and strategic communications. She is a coach with CSH’s Speak Up! Program, where she trains people with lived experience of homelessness to tell their stories and advocate for permanent supportive housing. In her spare time, she plays the piano, is a visual artist and reads all the books she can get her hands on.

If you plan on participating in Sunday, April 27th’s training, here is a pre-workshop assignment to fill out. You can download the assignment by filling out this form, writing your thoughts out by hand or with another computer program, or by recording an audio or video file and sending it to kirsten@thegoodmancenter.com by Wednesday, April 23rd.

Not able to email it back or did you sign up for the training after the assignment was due? No problem! You can still participate in the training. The assignment helps Kirsten determine who to call-on during the training. You are still able to fully participate and ask questions.

This training is being offered for a suggested donation starting at $1.00 & it will help us cover the costs of hiring skilled professionals & then go toward the #MillionsMissing fundraiser. Here is a Google form for those who need to attend the training for free.
